Lee Godown is a public policy executive with deep roots in Washington and other world capitals, and a record of progressive leadership for companies facing change, opportunity and crisis. A strategist and tactician with an appreciation for business performance, Lee has a reputation for ingenuity, diplomacy and the ability to navigate complexity. He’s guided global companies through high-stakes transactions as well as legislative and regulatory inquiries. A senior Congressional staffer for over 25 years, Lee has extensive business and government connections across the globe.

Lee was at the forefront of General Motors’s public policy initiatives for close to a decade, including its response to several high-profile safety, regulatory and legislative crises. He advised G.M.’s senior leadership on threats and opportunities represented by governmental safety inquiries and regulatory and legislative reviews.

Lee has a B.A. in Political Science and Foreign Affairs from California State University, Pomona. He has taught at the graduate business schools of the University of California, Irvine, the University of Maryland, and is an adjunct professor at the Schar Graduate School of Policy and Government at George Mason University.
